Tea Party Mobilizes To Defend Liberty, Repeal Obamacare

The Final Verdict

View on YouTube

The silver lining to this is that it will re-energize all those people who may have sat out in November because they didn’t like Romney.

Now they’ll be motivated to vote, just to take back the House and Senate so we can repeal!

The Oregon Tea Party released this statement on the Supreme Court decision to uphold Obamacare:

The Oregon Tea Party PAC expressed disappointment in today’s Supreme Court ruling on the individual mandate portion of President Obama’s healthcare law, but noted that this is merely the first step in the process of full repeal of this onerous bill.

John Kuzmanich, Chairman of Oregon Tea Party PAC, stated, “I’m stunned that the individual mandate was upheld. Apparently Justice Roberts’ opinion places limits on the expansion of the Federal Government under the Commerce Clause, but I don’t believe most Americans will be satisfied knowing that they can now be forced to buy a product from a private company against their wishes. When the Nancy Pelosi / Harry Reid Congress passed this bill, it was sold as a lie. Despite their claims, this is a huge tax on businesses and the middle class. As we’ve said all along, this is a massive tax increase that the American people overwhelmingly oppose, during the worst economic downturn of our lives. One thing is certain – this ruling has motivated our grass roots volunteers like nothing we’ve seen. We’re already hearing from our volunteers that they are motivated like never before.”

Jeff Reynolds, who sits on the PAC’s Leadership Council, expressed optimism that this is only the beginning of the journey. “Justice Roberts, in my opinion, made the wrong decision in upholding Obamacare as constitutional. That said, he gave us something to work with in his opinion. He declared the mandate a tax, catching Obama in a bold faced lie. Oregonians want real reform, but adding massive new spending and massive new regulations will do nothing to contain healthcare costs.”

Geoff Ludt, founder of Oregon Tea Party, laid out a course of action in the fight to repeal the bill. “The Supreme Court has passed the case back to the people — it is in our court now and we know what we are to do next. We will elect principled leadership to reinforce Conservatives in the House of Representatives as well as win the Senate, we will defeat Barack Obama and we will repeal his law.”

The Oregon Tea Party PAC calls on all Conservatives, Libertarians, Republicans, Independents and Democrats who want real reform to set aside their differences and work to defeat the common enemy – President Obama and his big government policies that are choking off growth and jobs in America. Healthcare reform should be market-based and patient-centered, not another massive government entitlement that will get in the way of private sector job growth. November is coming.

About Oregon Tea Party PAC: The Oregon Tea Party PAC is a non-partisan, non-sectarian, non-profit organization of individuals dedicated to educating and furthering the foundational concepts of limited Constitutional government, personal responsibility, free market principles, individual rights, liberty and freedom by pooling resources to effectively influence our local, state and federal governments through endorsements, support or opposition of candidates, elected officials, measures, and issues. Tim Phillips reacts at Americans For Prosperity:

Americans for Prosperity is deeply disappointed by the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold a law that most Americans believed to be unconstitutional. As a result, unless Congress steps in and repeals this legislation, health care costs for most Americans will go up and the quality of health care goes down as Washington politicians ramp up yet another massive new bureaucracy. The Court got it wrong, and now Congress must step in.

President Obama’s big-government legislation will result in higher costs and fewer choices, and centralizes health care decisions in Washington instead of with patients and families. Adding $1.15 trillion in new Washington spending and handing over health care decisions to bureaucrats is not the way to control health care costs.

For years, Americans for Prosperity has vigorously opposed President Obama’s deeply flawed health care plan. Since 2009, our Hands Off My Health Care project has rallied thousands of Americans at hundreds of events around the country, including a massive rally this past March with over 4,000 AFP activists.

The American people deserve health care freedom and choice, not more restrictions and irresponsible spending. Over the next several days, AFP will launch a series of events around the country telling Congress ‘Hands Off My Health Care,’ and demanding a full repeal of Obama’s deeply flawed health care law.

Tea Party Patriots responds:

The Supreme Court ruled against the American people today,” said Jenny Beth Martin, Co-Founder and National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots.

The American people overwhelming oppose Obamacare. Now more than ever it is time for the American people to band together and take our government back. Americans agree with what Justice Kennedy said in the dissenting opinion that ‘the entire Act before us is invalid in its entirety.’ We are putting all politicians on notice that we will not rest until this law is overturned it’s in entirety.

This is a slap in the face to the majority of the American people who want Obamacare fully repealed. The Tea Party Patriots stand with the American people and say: fully repeal Obamacare.

Mr. Romney, Mr. Boehner: the American people are putting you on notice. You both promised to fully repeal Obamacare. We will hold you to your promises.

We will vote out any politician who does not commit, in writing, to respect the will of the American people and fully repeal Obamacare.

The last hope to repeal Obamacare is now in YOUR hands: take back the White House, Senate and Congress in November!

The Senate Commerce & Labor Committee held a work session yesterday on “public transparency in collective bargaining negotiations.” Despite the strong mandate for government transparency declared by the people in the Open Public Meetings Act, government employee contracts are usually negotiated in secret, meaning an important and costly taxpayer expense is hidden until the final bill comes due. There […]

We all knew that Steven Soderbergh's retirement from feature filmmaking in 2013 following the release of Side Effects was unlikely to last. President Trump issued an executive order yesterday aimed at streamlining the federal approval process for infrastructure projects. • “True” BRT Clogs Up the Roads August 15, 2017
The strange notion that bus-rapid transit isn’t “true” bus-rapid unless it uses lanes dedicated only to buses has infected Denver. The city is now considering converting two lanes of Colfax, the most important (and most congested) east-west street in the region, into dedicated bus lanes. This would make the remaining lanes even more congested, yet […]
