BOMBSHELL – Kitzhaber Lied In His Press Conference Jan 30, 2015

John_Kitzhaber_2010

In an extraordinary press conference on Friday, January 30, Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber addressed concerns about his fiancee Cylvia Hayes and her tax returns, and whether there were lapses in reporting of income under Oregon ethics laws. Financial disclosure forms require the reporting of all household income to the Oregon Ethics Commission. Allegations of impropriety […]

Oregon HB 2306 Aims To Undermine Political Parties In Oregon

Oregon_voter_pamphlet

I do not think it wise to pass HB 2306 for a number of reasons. My understanding is that the effect of this bill will designate all county and city elections as nonpartisan across the entire state, and that it will eliminate the ability of the precinct committee persons in a district to submit suggestions for replacement office holders in the case of a vacancy in local public office.

Oregon’s Secretary Of State Calls Voter ID “The Conservative Right Wing’s War On Voting” | FreedomWorks

keep-portland-weird-jpg

Despite strong support for basic, common sense laws ensuring the integrity of the vote across the country (see here, here, here, here and here), the Left continues to insist that requiring positive identification and verification of eligibility before voting is somehow suppressive, racist and and an evil plot to steal elections for Conservatives. Few public […]

California, Wisconsin, And You

California, Wisconsin, And You

Although two California cities, San Diego and San Jose, held their own public-employee union trimming sessions yesterday, the brunt of attention has, of course, been focused upon Wisconsin, where public-employee union thugs poured some $21 million into their effort to remove Governor Scott Walker – and failed.Unsurprisingly, the goons and their drooling Leftist pals have […]

SoS Project: Dead, Or Hiding?

Following the election in 2000, in which Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris judged that George W. Brown Water Snake (1980) (Photo credit: Hunter-Desportes) Bush had won the close election in her state (AlGore took it all the way to the US Supreme Court, which sided with Harris), a wealthy guy by the name of […]

  • Roads Face Funding Crisis in King County’s Unincorporated Areas April 17, 2015
During the recession, property values fell almost 40 percent. They’ve since risen, but property taxes have not rebounded because state law only allows them to rise 1% a year. At that rate, it’ll take the county at least 40 years to shake off the recession’s grip. The post Roads Face Funding Crisis in King County’s […]

  • The Future of Oil April 17, 2015
Bloomberg argues that “supply alone is [not] behind the plunge in crude prices to $50 a barrel.” Instead, demand for motor fuel has slacked off due to lack of growth in driving combined with more fuel-efficient cars and more competitive electric cars. The electric cars argument is specious, as too few of them have been […]
  • Oregon’s Next Bad Idea April 16, 2015
Oregon’s House of Representatives passed a bill to legalize inclusionary zoning. In memory of Bart Simpson, this should be called the “I Didn’t Do It Act,” as the reason for Oregon’s low housing affordability compared with most other states is the legislature’s continuing support for land-use regulation and urban-growth boundaries. Inclusionary zoning requires home builders […]
