Oregon State Senator Brian Boquist has submitted legislation, jokingly, that would require a criminal and mental background check of any prospective knife buyer. Thumbprints would be needed and the knife would be registered under the name of the buyer. More ridiculously sarcastic, a whole new department would be created to handle the knife background checks, registry, and knife dealership information. Of course, fees would have be collected from every background check in order to fund the new agency.

This is all just a big joke, in response to the hysteria from people wanting more gun control, and the proposed gun ban legislation, HB 3200, which was introduced last week that, for all intents and purposes, bans every modern day firearm from being sold in the state.
