It appears that the Oregon Secretary of State (SOS) is preparing to level a record setting fine upon House Representative Deborah Boone as a result of her reporting an amazing and also record setting Cash Balance Adjustment of $7843.58 on her ORESTAR campaign finance account. After a series of hard-hitting articles on MOOCountyNews in 2011 and 2012 concerning questionable expenses charged to her account( See “More Interesting Campaign Expenses of Rep. Boone“, Tuesday, March 13, 2012 and “Rep. Boone Lives the Good Life on Campaign Funds“, Monday, March 12, 2012) Representative Boone apparently had a first-ever(?) audit performed on her ORESTAR account (which I believe was performed or occasioned by the Oregon House Democrat Political Action Committee known as “Future PAC“). On April 5, 2012, after this audit, Boone reported to the SOS elections department that she had a discrepancy of the above amount in her campaign checking account. No explanation was given as to how this sum of money was “found”.
