So much speculation is being offered regarding John Kitzhaber’s job status that it’s hard to keep up. We know that the Democratic Governor of Oregon is in deep trouble in his fourth term. We know that Kate Brown is second in line for the job should Kitzhaber resign. We know that Kate Brown rushed back from Washington DC unexpectedly in the middle of a conference. We know that Kate Brown might actually be more of a leftist than Kitzhaber, having been supported in her first election to Secretary of State by George Soros’ SOS Project.
Here are the credible rumors flying around. The best intel right now points to Kitzhaber preparing to resign early Thursday morning. Some are still speculating that Kitzhaber holds on for dear life, indicating that those in Salem in the know still doubt he’s willing to give up. We do know that Kitzhaber had a private meeting with House Majority Leader Peter Courtney earlier in the week, and indications are that Kitzhaber has been uninvited to hearings on bills he’s supporting – his testimony has been rejected several times by Democratic committee chairs.
Maybe it’s a pipe dream, but all indications seem to be pointing to a resignation sometime very soon.
